We're changing it up, but this time, in another realm of reality! Here to give us a glimpse of The Ghost of Us (TGOU) is Emi, Jay, Amanda, and Bee from its Book Team!

Some people are intrigued by ghosts, some want NOTHING to do with them, haha. With that said, can you tell us a little bit about what TGOU will be about?

Emi: You're a medium. They're a ghost. Can I make it any more obvious?

Jay: 😭Are you quoting Sk8er Boi by Avril Lavigne??? Yes, you can make it more obvious. I think our players would appreciate it…

Emi: Okay fiiiine. Your life gets turned upside down when the ghost of a well-known Sonoma partier, Grey Morrison, bursts into your life. However, their death isn't as simple as it seems. They were murdered, and it's up to you to find out who did it. Only problem is, you're starting to fall for each other.

Amanda: They died!? Spoiler alert…

Falling for a ghost, huh? That's going to be... interesting! Which characters do you think our readers would be excited to meet?

Emi: Honestly, there's so many of them, but I do have a soft spot for the ghost of a 1920s flapper who has spent the afterlife going to every party she could find.

Amanda: I can’t wait to crash every party in the Afterlife…

Emi: There's also a ghost puppy who may or may not be based on what my dog looked like as a puppy.

Amanda: Oh, we very much proudly made sure it looked like Emi’s doggo, and they came out so adorable!

Jay: And then of course there is always the lovely Grey. They’ll do anything for a corndog.

Emi: Well, almost anything. They do have a reputation to uphold, after all.

Ghost puppy?! Ahh, well we can't wait to see this new crew of characters!

Moving on to the next Q: How do you go about writing a romance when one person is incorporeal?

Emi: Very carefully. I cannot tell you the number of times I'd be writing a scene like "They take your hand" and then I'd remember "Nope, they sure can't do that."

Jay: Haha! I love that Grey’s personality fits perfectly with being a ghost. Always following MC around with flirty snarky comebacks.

Emi: There's also a lot of fun in finding how to build a connection within those parameters. What does it feel like when a ghost touches you? Or passes through you? Or even possesses you? 😈

Eeeeeeep! So... How are ghosts presented in this book?

Emi: Our ghosts aren't spooky. They're just people who have unfinished business that is keeping them from moving on, and it's your job to figure out what that is and how to resolve it for them.

Amanda: Yeah, if we made the ghosts look really scary, I’d be surprised how Grey would become our main love interest… But we had a lot of fun trying to figure out how to visually differentiate our ghosts with our humans!

Ah, so for anyone reading this and is afraid of ghosts, be not afraid! Alright team, do tell us: How did MC become a medium?

Emi: Your MC comes from a long line of mediums. Her mother was one, and her grandmother before that. You've been honing this power since you were a child, and as a result, you can do a lot of really cool psychic things, from seeing visions of the past, feeling the emotion left behind on objects, and predicting the future. Of course, you're used to ghosts playing by your rules, and Grey is definitely a rule-breaker.

Amanda: Ooh, I wonder if the MC’s mother and grandmother ever had some kind of connection with a ghost?

Probably, I wouldn't be surprised! Let's talk about the art in TGOU. What was your favorite outfit to design?

Amanda: I gotta say the Wedding Guest outfit was really fun to brainstorm. We wanted to come up with a unique and true boho-chic, colorful outfit for the MC. We had a lot of fun with this outfit. Plus, crochet is coming back!

Emi: Seriously. I wish I could own that dress in real life.

Jay: I love the retro vibes of the Wedding Guest outfit! Oh and the new hairstyles are gorgeous!

I'm looking forward to seeing these outfits and the new hairstyles. How did you come up with the design for the cover?

Amanda: The Art Team really wanted to show the connection between the love story and the setting, but additionally show the “ghost” aspect of Grey. I think we did a really good job showing how the MC and Grey can connect physically (somehow…)

Jay: This is by far one of the prettiest covers we have done in my opinion. The Art Team really outdid themselves!

Emi: Seeing it animated just took it to the next level!

Beautiful! Are there any new features fans will encounter in this book?

Jay: The ghostly auras add a nice finishing touch to the world.

Amanda: I agree, I can’t wait for players to see the ghostly effects that we put on our characters!

Emi: We also designed some Tarot cards just for this book, and let me just say… They're fire! You can get a fun little sneak peek at some of them below.

Leads us to our next question: What did you enjoy the most about creating this book?

Emi: I love the dynamic between MC and Grey. Annoyances to lovers > enemies to lovers.

Jay: I enjoy the mystery and crime solving elements a lot! MC and Grey make a good detective duo.

Bee: Animating the ghost effects was really fun- lots of pretty floating lights~! I was also super intrigued by the premise, so I got really into it. I got so hooked onto the idea of helping ghosts move on that I read the whole outline at 3 in the morning!

3am in the morning? That is some dedication! Okay, last but not least, which Major Arcana do you most identify with?

Emi: Death.

Jay: Hey! That was gonna be mine!

Emi: I just love the idea of rebirth and being able to start over. Also it's got big necromancy vibes, and I am a part time necromancer.

Jay: Fine, I’ll go with the Fool because I’m always clowning myself. Or maybe the Lovers because unfortunately I’m a hopeless romantic. I also know absolutely nothing about Tarot cards, my answers are purely vibes.

Amanda: You get a dog too as the Fool, so win-win situation. It’s clear that I choose The Tower, cause I’m a MESS™.

Emi: The one negative card in a Tarot deck and you pick that one to identify with.

Amanda: Even reversed, the meaning is still not good (-:
