Thanks for being with us today, Olivia! Can you give us a quick look at our latest Choices Story?

Olivia: In Years Apart, you've just survived a divorce and are ready for a fun fling to celebrate your freedom. But the hot young doctor you share a date with turns out to be more complicated than you ever could've imagined...

That chemistry sounds electric 😉 How would you describe the chemistry between the two leads?

Olivia: Sizzling! Both of you meet because you're looking for something new, but the sparks fly way faster (and burn way hotter) than either of you expected. Our love interest is the kind of person who doesn't let a moment of their life go to waste, and they bring out new sides of the main character as the two of you grow closer.

With all that romantic tension, what challenges do these two face as they navigate this relationship?

Olivia: This is an age-gap romance (our main character is 40, and her love interest is in their mid-20s), so our characters are bound to face some judgment based on other people's expectations. As for the other risks, I don't want to spoil anything... but let's just say there's another angle that makes it extra important to keep your new fling under wraps.

We’ll have to see what that’s all about! What themes of empowerment can readers look forward to?

Olivia: Our main character has just gotten out of a very stifling, two-decade-long marriage - so along with the romance, this book is really about her rediscovering herself. (Our art team made something awesome that you'll see throughout the book to help represent this.) We wanted to acknowledge just how hard it is to put parts of yourself away to make someone else happy, and show what it might look like if you get a second chance at following your own dreams. Of course, it helps to have some super supportive besties - and a date who is determined to help you make up for lost time!

This book sounds full of memorable moments. Can you tease any steamy, emotional, or dramatic scenes that fans can look forward to?

Olivia: My two favorite chapters involve a winery and a trip to the Bahamas. Also, if you get a chance to sneak into a coat closet at any point... I highly recommend it ;)

Were there any scenes in Years Apart that you found especially challenging or fun to write?

Olivia: Anything about our protagonist's pre-divorce life was very heart-wrenching (but rewarding) to write. The most fun scenes were almost all dates with our love interest - they're so optimistic and charming, it's impossible not to fall for them, and it was a blast coming up with creative ways they could help you expand your horizons.

If you could sum up Years Apart in three words, what would they be?

Olivia: Heartfelt, sizzling, heartbreaking.
