This book is more than what it appears to be. Can you tell us a little bit about The Billionaire’s Baby?

Shea: You're a recent transplant to Seattle trying to find your way in the world when you get the chance to become the surrogate for a tech billionaire and their model wife. But you quickly realize you're in over your head when you feel an undeniable spark between you and the billionaire. Suddenly thrust into a world of wealth, glamor, and secrets, you have to navigate your feelings... all while dealing with the trials and tribulations of your pregnancy.

This all sounds riveting! Are there any particular characters you’re excited for our players to meet? 

Katie: I'm hyped for players to meet Cole/Callie, they are absolutely gorgeous with a heart of gold.

Amanda: I'm excited for players to meet the baby! Once the baby is born, the players will have the opportunity to see all the other art we lined up and it's truly adorable!

Shea: While I'm certainly excited for players to meet Cole/Callie, we also have a great cast of supporting characters. I'm excited for players to get to know Cole/Callie's wife, Daphne, and her mother, Estelle (who is the MIL from hell). I also love MC's roommate and best friend, Demi– she's a voice of reason through a very unreasonable situation.

Rachel: Definitely Cole/Callie. They just want to be the best parent they can be. Amidst the brewing tension in the Stone household, they provide so many heartwarming moments that just get you right in the feels.

Alicia: I can't wait for players to meet the baby! The baby is so adorable and sweet!

We’re so excited! On another note… What was the team’s tonal reference for the art in this book? 

Katie: Visually this book is wonderful. The backgrounds in Seattle feel so real, and quite a few locations our characters visit are real places in Seattle, too! Additionally, working on books involving kids or babies means there are lots of toys and baby animals throughout.

Alicia: We wanted to use a couple of visual themes throughout the book to represent the characters. Cole/Callie have a celestial theme, which is also carried through to the baby. Because the book takes place in Washington, we wanted to incorporate a nautical theme for our main character.

Amanda: One of the tonal references we wanted to make sure of is the unique location of Seattle, Washington. It was a must for us to include rainy weather and weather-appropriate fashion for our characters! In addition, the writers did a great job with their research on all the different events/locations in this city, just to make sure the setting feels authentic.

Sounds like the team outdid themselves! Though we must say, we want the tea! Did the team encounter any fun/funny behind-the-scenes moments while creating The Billionaire’s Baby?

Katie: While working on this book, we had a small visual bug that made the main character's head appear way too small for her body. We managed to fix it, but it was hilarious to see. I had a lot of fun programming in this book, it was more challenging than usual.

Amanda: Trying to find some cute and trendy maternity outfits was a fun challenge for the team; we really had to step outside of our box and try to make sure our main character looked sexy and appropriate.

Shea: Less of a moment and more of an ongoing discussion, but we've had to navigate how to balance 'sexy' and 'pregnancy' throughout the story– there are a lot of things about pregnancy that are very much not sexy, but are nonetheless part of the whole experience. It was really helpful to have team members who have recently become parents to advise on how to make sure the story feels genuine to the experience... while also delivering on the steaminess that our readers are here for.

Alicia: I recently had a baby, so the trials and tribulations of pregnancy were all too familiar to me. In a lot of ways, I felt like I was vicariously creating my perfect nursery and maternity wardrobe (if only I had billions of dollars!).

Rachel: So while working on The Billionaire’s Baby, I took a trip to Seattle with my husband. I was able to see some of the locations we use as a backdrop during the book in person. It helped me to put myself in the MC’s shoes for everything from taking a ferry ride across the Puget Sound to eating a romantic dinner at the top of the Space Needle.

It’s always fun to feel like you’re in the character’s shoes! We’re excited to explore Seattle and the world of The Billionaire’s Baby. Thank you for taking the time to chat with us. Until next time!
